No, Connections does not create posts for entries, it works quite differently from that. Actually the Connections directory exists all on the same page.

The best advice I can give is since Connections is free to download, install and use is to do just that and play with it for a half hour or so. Here’s some settings that get’s you in the ballpark of what you’re looking to do, I think.

Install Connections, add a few test entries.
On the Connections : Settings admin page under the Display tab, check the Single Entry option.
On the Connections : Templates admin page activate the Names template under the All template type.
On the Connections : Templates admin page activate the Bio Entry Card under both the Individual and Organization template types.
