I’m not 100% certain I follow what you’re asking, sorry. I think there are three questions, right?

The first one, are you just trying to list out the categories assinged to the entry? If yes, all you need is this command: $entry->getCategoryBlock(). This function can be found in the class.output.php file.

With cMap, categories are already searchable. Click the drop down and there is a field to search thru the categories.

If you’re searching for computer or computers both should return results. Here’s demo. Searching for villag dropping the e it returns the results for village.
