To answer your question, assuming this is in reference to a WP User making an edit to their directory Entry on the site frontend using the Form addon, the form should refresh and show the Edit Entry form again. If that is not happening then another plugin is likely causing a fatal javascript error preventing this from functioning correctly.

To see if that is the issue or not, open the page in Chrome and before you submit the Entry, hit the F12 key, and then click the Console tab. Now click the submit button. Any errors occurring in the browser will be displayed here.
