@ Richard
The last few months of Connections updates have brought about many underlying changes to improve the maps and geocoding capabilities. This has been prompted by many users wanting to switch away from Google Maps to free providers such as OpenStreetMaps (OSM).
The new and/or improved features include items such as multi service provider support for geocoding address, multiple service provider support for map tiles (the actual maps), lazy loading of maps, multiple pins per m,aps if the entry has more than one address added to it, pins now have a popup with the address and a get directions button.
I mention this because all these features, and more, have been built upon the Leaflet maps library. The link for Leaflet is their attribution, just like the maps tiles themselves have their attribution links (which are also active and required per terms of use). The link for Connections is its attribution for creating the map mashup (your entry data put on a map with a pin and popup).
Moving to a map service provider neutral library will continue to allow me to more quickly continue to build additional features that are still in planning and development states.
Hope this helps!
