I am assuming you are following this developer doc, correct? The page you linked to is the docs for the shortcode.

The WordPress Permalinks option must be set to any option than “Plain” for this to function correctly.

Navigate to the WordPress Settings : Permalinks admin page and choose the “Post name” option.
