First question… how did you install such a recent version of Connections on such an older version of WP? WP should have prevented that.
Try this… Navigate to the WordPress Updates admin page. You’ll find this under the icon in the top left which looks like a gage. An update for Connections should be shown, assuming WP is not blocking it like it should. Upgrade Connections.
After you upgrade Connections, it should no longer load due to it not meeting the minimum requirements. This safety net was added in one of the more recent updates.
If you unable to update Connection… Log into your web hosts control panel and access the file manager. Navigate to the ../wp-content/ folder. Rename the plugins folder to plugins-deactivated. No plugins will be loaded because WP will not be able to find them. Navigate to the Plugins admin page. WP should report that the plugins have been deactivated. After that, you can rename the folder back to plugins.
