When you add a logo, and then after you save the entry — can you see the logo when you edit the entry again? I suspect you can if you can upload a photo to an entry.
I see you are using the Circled template — if you are talking about seeing the logo there, the template supports displaying the photo or the logo, not both. If you want more images for the entry, I suggest adding them to the bio.
RE: when i go to view my sample entry under the dashboard manager, it takes me to this URL but I only see the content for the main directory page which i have set up to go to sub directory pages.
That is because you have the Directory Home page set to that page. Since you are going to manually break the directory apart into many pages the admin links are not going to be valid as it simple is not possible to know which page the entry should be linked.
Keep in mind what you are doing is possible, obviously, but there will be some limitations such as this. Also some extension work based off the directory home page settings such as the widgets in the Widget Pack.
You can mitigate some/many of this minor issues by using this installing this addon for Connections:

This addon allows you to define the directory home page per entry overriding the global directory home page setting. Even though the usage of this addon is fairly straightforward it is considered an advanced addon, eg, you’ll have to know how to download and install it from Github in order to use it.
