re: On my site I want users to be able to submit an entry, whether they are the owners of that business or not. Only, subsequently, once I get in touch with the organisation to request their permission to publish the listing, I should like to change the account associated with that entry to person appointed by the owner to take over responsibility for maintaining their own entries. Is there a way to do that? Is there a Membership Registration plugin that plays nicely with Connections?
Setup Form to display the Submit Entry link. That will allow any visitor to submit an entry.
after you get in touch you can provide them with the user registration link for your site or you could manually create a user account for them and supply them with the password. After the user is registered and they login, Link will connect the Connections Entry and the WordPress user account at which point he user can maintain their own entry.
The tricky bit is that the “Submit Entry” link will still appear allowing the user to a submit more entries unrelated to them. They will have also the View/Edit my entry links that are setup as part of Link. Most users done one or the other. It is very rare I see both. It’ll work just fine, there is just that one caveat.
re: Is there a way to selectively display the categories image grid one the main Directory, using one template, but hide it on another page, that displays just one subset parent category, using a different template?
Are you using the Enhanced Categories settings to display the category image grid or using its shortcode? If you are using this option, disable it..
On the page using the cMap template, use the Enhanced Categories shortcode to display it.
Now the cMap template page will display the category image grid and the page with Gridder will not.
Hope this helps!
