Do you have Yoast SEO installed? I’ve noticed that some sites the filter that Yoast SEO runs causes shortcodes to run in the admin and the Connections shortcode is not designed to run in the admin and can error out. I suspect this might be the case. To test, try temporarily deactivating Yoast SEO to see if that resolves the issue for you. Reactivate after you test. HOpe this helps, let me know what you find out.
