re: When i click “create key” and choose “API” the it gives me a key right away.
I can name that key as i wish, such as ‘browser key’, but there is no second window that allows me to choose that or any option.
Ok, its seems Google has changed the user interface a bit… I suppose it makes it easier. There is no longer a choice between key types, instead you have to create multiple keys then choose the limitation. I’ll have to spend some time today updating the tutorial.
As long as you did not add any restrictions to the key you created, you should be able to use it for both the browser and server keys. This is not “safe” but let’s ignore the restrictions for now in order to get you up and running. If you added restrictions to the key, please remove it now. After you do, add the key to both the server and the browser key setting on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Advanced tab.
re: And the multiple API calls error can be replaced with another error message if I uncheck the Google Maps API v3 box
Leave this option enabled, you will very likely break maps in Connections.
After you have done these, please let me know and I’ll look at your page.
