Probably the best place to start is to point you to the configuration docs for both plugins.

If you plan only only allowing your registered site users to submit entries to the directory you really only need to following the instructions for Link.

The important bit, there is no shortcode you need to put on a page. You need to enable the add/edit action links on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Display tab in the Result List Action. That’s covered in the Link Config instructions.

If you want to add a link to the form, let’s say on a “member homepage” you can use the two shortcodes for Link. Or, you could use the free Login extension and add it to the theme’s sidebar.
