re: IN this day in age why can’t you put the serial key into the settings, and then enable automatic upgrades, like every other plugin manages to do?
That is exactly how it works. I see you have activated your licenses on http://gotoscotia.com/. I am not exactly sure what the issue is. If you have a valid license entered and is not expired (which yours are are not expired) you’ll receive in admin updates like all other plugins.
re: So now we have to go out to your site, login, download a new plugin and update them manually. This is so ass backwards.
As mentioned in my previous answer with a valid and active support license you will receive in admin updates, just like all other plugins.
Obviously there is some confusion here which I can help with and address…
I guess my first question is what makes you believe there are no in admin updates? If there was something in the documentation that lead you to believe this, can you point it out so I can review it and try to make it more clear.
There’s only one thing that I see that could be an issue, you activated your support licenses key on http://gotoscotia.com/
but, when I visit the site it redirects to http://www.gotoscotia.com/
. My guess is you may have changed your site settings in between activation and now to include the www
. This, I believe would count as a different site and then you would not be able to update because the sites do not match.
If this is causing an update issue for you, then you need to deactivate the license and activate it again using the www
address. Follow the “License Activated on Another Site” section in this FAQ to do this.
Hope this helps, let me know.
