Look in the package zip file. Open the database.sql file in your favorite text editor and search for _connections. You should find at least several hundred based on 150 entries. If you do not see any, then you need to check your configuration of Duplicator. I just installed, with no configuration, created a package and the tables were included with their data in the database.sql file.

If they are present, then open you local database using your favorite db explorer. Are the tables present and do they contain data. If there is then they imported fine and there is a config issue with your local MAMP install.
