The directory setup is sort of confusing… it appears you have many pages with the [connections] shortcode on it. For example all those page links for the “Departments” and “Administrative Units” in the sidebar. Each of those links, seem to be a separate page with a [connections] shortcode, like utilizing the category shortcode attribute. If that is correct, this is something that you can do, but, you should really, really consider disabling the category drop down. Having both creates a really confusing navigational experience.

On to the topic you’re asking about…

I browsed around quite a bit and all the individual pages seem to be fine, except, for the pages where you have the shortcode on the page multiple times. One example is the “Elementary Education and Middle Grades Education” page. All the entry links in the second instance of the shortcode will not work correctly because on the individual pages, only the first shortcode is used so if that first shortcode is limited by a category in which the entry does not exist, it will return no results. You can use the shortcode on the page multiple times but you do need to setup up the directory differently and you should really, really disable the category search and keyword search when you do because that makes browsing and navigation of the directory confusing.

So, to resolve both issues I’ve noticed you should do the following…

  1. Disable the View All list action.
  2. Disable the category drop down in cMap.
  3. Disable the keyword search in cMap.
  4. You need to create a new page. The name is not important but should be relevant. For example, “Person”. On this page you should have the [connections] shortcode and nothing else with no shortcode attributes. Set this page as the directory home page.
  5. Now, on all the existing directory pages add force_home="true" to the existing [connections] shortcodes. This will force the individual links to result to the new “Person” directory home page.

If I have guessed the correct setup correctly this should fix all the navigational issues.
