You can import into any of the fields available when manually adding an entry into Connections (except images). So, if you map your fields from your database to fields in Connections when you do the import, then yes. The mapping is the second step when importing a CSV file. To get a better idea, take a look at the video, it will show you the mapping step where I mapped the CSV file to fields within Connections.
