What version of Slim Plus? Is that the exact shortcode you are using? To turn on the the character index, go to the Connections : Settings admin page and enable it under the Display tab. Alternative, you can use the shortcode option if you wish, it should work. When working with the shortcode, do not copy/past the option from the website unless you are pasting it into the Text editor, not the Visual Editor because the HTML will also be pasted from the website which breaks the proper functioning of shortcode.
