Hi Steven
Feel stupid for not thinking of using the category structure within Connections to differentiate Members from Non-Members before !!!
Set-up four member-based categories – Non-Member, Member-BasicListing, Member-Weblink and Member-Upgraded. Using Firebug I could easily see how the class was added to the individual listings and then was able to turn on and off various elements on the front end via CSS.
- Non-Member: gets Business Name, Address, PHone, Email
- Basic members: get to have Business Name, Address, Phone, Email and Description
(re-named the Biography area) - Member-Weblink: In addition to everything the Member-Basic gets,
- Weblink Members get hyperlink to website and all manner of the social media links
- Member-Upgraded: Gets EVERYTHING, which the default settings of Connections – i.e.
logo, phone, interactive map etc
As well, I added an icon to the h3 tag for Members and changed the background gradient/colours and colour of Business Name from the Non-Member listings.
VERY HAPPY!!
I will be transferring the completed project over to GrandBendTourism.com next week and then will add a review with link to updated website.
Thanks so much for a truly great plugin
