re: Can users search listing (specifically with CMap template) by zip code?
Sorry, no.
re: Is there an option to show listing within X radius of user?
Sorry, not yet. I plan on releasing a new extension this summer which does exactly this. More here: http://connections-pro.com/support/topic/map-view/#post-333908
re: Do you support featured listings?
Sorry, again, not presently it is on the to do list but I can not give an eta at this point.
If you are looking for these feature now, sorry, but you’ll have to use one of the other options available. I will have these other features in time. How much time, I can not really say…
To give you an idea of what can be done… Another user has contracted to build a custom solution.
Gravity Forms is used to create a custom form for a user to select a membership level. Based on the choice, the user could add specific details including limiting the number of categories they may choose to be listed.
When a user submitted the form, they could chose to pay by PayPal or by Check.
At the same time, the user is sent an account verification email. After the user clicks the verification link, the data they submitted via the Gravity Form is used to create a new user account in WP and a new Connections entry and the two are linked so the user can also maintain their entry using a separate custom Gravity Form.
This data is also fed into Restricted Content Pro (RCP) to create a new membership. The status of this membership is used to determine if the entry is listed or not. RCP is also used to process membership renewals and email notifications about pending expirations and other related emails.
They were already using another plugin to handle access to certain pages when a user was logged in. This is something RCP could be used for but to prevent from having to rework that, this data is also used to add the new user to the correct group in that plugin.
This may sound all complex and add the code level is kind of is but from an admin level, they simply manage their users from RCP everything else is pretty much self managing.
This solution gave them a level of flexibility not attainable by any other plugin even those that offer some of this as builtin features.
