re: What is the cutoff in terms of image size?
That is entirely dependent upon the server config. The only “limitation” Connections puts in place is the overall size of 1920x1080px. If an image is uploaded that is larger, it’ll scale down the original version. If is smaller, then it’ll leave it alone. Connections will also create/precache three image sizes, large, medium and thumbnail matching the settings found on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Images tab.
re: Ex: my smart college visit logo is 171 x 79 and it will not display.
Double check that the image is being uploaded as a logo.
Double check that it is set to display.
Ensure the image is a JPEG, PNG or GIF.
Sometime an image will view correctly, but is actually corrupt preventing the server from opening and scaling it. Before uploading it, open it in your favorite photo editor and do a save as to create a new copy of the image. Photo editing programs are far more adept at opening images that may be corrupt.
Hope that helps, please let me know.
