Yes, you can use either a permalink or a query var.

/?cn-cat={id}

id is the category ID number found on the Connections : Manage admin page.

/cat/{slug}/

slug is the category slug number found on the Connections : Manage admin page.

The cat permalink slug can be changed on the Connections : Settings page under the Advanced tab.

Do not add the brackets.
