One other user seems to be having the same issue. We have not yet been able to track down the issue causing this problem. If you would be willing to grant FTP access and allow me to install a diagnostic plugin, Query Monitor, I would be happy to to take a real close look to see why this is not happening.

As for showing the bio field, then is template dependent. Some templates show it, others do not. You can show the bio field using the the Bio Entry Card template of the Profile template that come with Connections.
