Both. Support and free updates for a period on 1 year from date of purchase. Renewals, if you chose, are at a discounted rate of 20% off the current price. If you chose not to renew the license, you would lose access to the updates which by the way … in admin updates are coming really soon for all templates and extensions. NO more having to log in here, download and then manually updating. Yeah! Back on topic… you would lose access to updates but the template or extension will continue to function. There could come a point where a template or extension may no longer function with newer version of Connections which then would require you to update. But, I do work very hard to make sure updates do not break existing templates and extensions. I’ll say, making sure I keep backward compatibility, is, well, hard. Templates from 4 years ago still work with Connections and that is after significant changes about once a year to the supported template design and structure. The next release takes the ability to customize templates to another whole level.
