The page that you put the [connections] shortcode on, near the publish/update button, that is where you can set the page to be private [or to add a password to the page]. This WordPress feature is the only way to keep the page private using a single password. My suggestion, and solution I used in the past, was to create a “church” user account. That “church” user account was what the congregation used to login. When logged in, the private page would then be visible and so will entries marked as private.
