Assuming this is in regards to the Link addon… I would suggest going over the Role Capabilities to make sure they are setup correctly for how you are using Connections. Here’s the link to the docs:

Now, judging from the link you supplied as an example… It looks like you are adding the the edit link to the Wp Menus. Here’s the link to the FAQ which goes over that in detail:

That said, this works only in the Wp Menus. YOu you want to add links elsewhere, then perhaps the shortcodes will meet your needs. Here’s the link to their docs:
