You set you pagination to a high value. I recommend only 20 per page, the template default. Loading so many entries will increase the loading time. This is not a bug or limitation with Connections. You would experience the same if you were to try and load that many WP posts on a single WP page.

Also, you need to navigate to the WordPress Permalinks admin page and remove the index.php from your permalink structure. This will make the structure compatible with Connections and improve the SEO of your site’s URL/s.
