Connections uses the server/WP configuration for file uploads. If you are not familiar with making changes to your web hosts configuration this could be a nontrivial change to make. I did a quick Google search and here’s a tutorial that seems to cover the steps required to make this change.

Which method that will work for you will really depend on the web host. I suggest trying each method starting at the top of the list and working you way down until the upload limit is changed. Only implement one method, not all.

ps. Connections does check the image size of the file uploaded and reduces it if necessary to the max image size is 1920x1080px (if I remember correctly of the top of my head). This is the full screen size of the most popular screen size in use on computers.
