Just adding some more information. When trying to reinstall the Connections plugin, I am getting this message:

Downloading install package from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/connections.8.5.14.zip…

Unpacking the package…

Installing the plugin…

Destination folder already exists.

Plugin install failed.
