Thanks Steve. It’s always the details that trip you up.
Still spinning. Updated Connections, but not WordPress. This reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private.
A Live site. Currently the line is still Pink, the version is 2.1.1, but I’m not getting a flag to update. Seems odd.
In organization, the input is Abrams, Maxine. So I think the problem starts there. The problem seems to be replicated wherever there is a comma.
There is a similar issue in the Biography; where everything spills over, and generally cancels out the ID number on the next entry.
I vaguely recall this has to do with escaping, but I haven’t written a line of code in over 10 years so..not much help.

As you suggested it turned out to be a non-issue. I got antsy and ran it. The replace plug-in identified wp_connections as the table with replacements. It didn’t name the field, but it worked anyway. A non-problem, I also had to reactivate the licenses.

You could go to your phpMyAdmin, write a brief mySQL query and create a file of names addresses, etc and then export that as a CSV into Excel/Word to generate your mailing labels.
Confusion in Mudville.
The first 21 entries (alphabetically) disappeared from the manage screen after I edited and updated my sample entry (number 21). They were still visible in phpMyAdmin. The edited entry was marked pending in phpmyadmin, and is listed as awaiting moderation on the dashboard.
When I clicked Update the screen returns to Manage with the 21 entries missing, and the entry still being listed as awaiting moderation.
Wait… I clicked further up the alphabet and then back to A so it brought back the first 20 items and then went to the moderate link above and approved the entry.
So, first lesson is Update is not Moderate.
All is good, I think, but why did the first 20 items disappear in Manage and would they have disappeared to a user of the web site? (I was too busy gasping for air to check using another browser.)
The fog is beginning to fade. Thanks for the “blog” example. So the Directory is a kind of limited access blog posting.
OK “They will be shown an “Add my directory entry” action link ” in the Admin upper right drop down box and also on the Directory?
Since that scenario is my only enemy do you think I would be able to use the Say What plugin to replace that phrase with a blank or a dot?
