CSV Import

NEW! The CSV Import now supports the importing of categories. If the category does not exist, it will create and link it to the entry. If it does exist, it will link the entry to the category.

How to use this new feature:
  1. Create a column with a header named ‘Category’.
  2. Under the ‘Category’ header, each entry can have multiple categories assigned to it.
  3. The Categories must be separated by commas.

NOTE:  The CSV fields must be enclosed by single or double quotes.

The CSV Import Pro Module allows you to quickly bulk import contact details into Connections.

  • Connections 0.7.2.1 or newer is required.

  1. After successful payment you will receive an email to the address registered to your PayPal account. This email will contain a link to the download page and your download code.
  2. On the download page, enter the the email address used to make the purchase and the download code. Then click Submit. You will then be taken to the page where you can download the CSV Import Pro Module.

  1. Install the CSV Import Pro Module as you would any other WordPress plug-in.
  2. In the WordPress admin under the Plugins menu, select Add New.
  3. Click the Upload link and the top of the page.
  4. Browse to where you downloaded the CSV Import Pro Module zip file and select it.
  5. Click Install Now.
  6. On a successful installation click Activate Plugin.
  7. When activated, a new sub menu item named Import CSV under Connections will be present.
  8. Follow the instructions on that page to import your CSV text file.

Does this import logos?

Why is only a portion of the CSV file is being imported?

This could be the result of the PHP Maximum Execution Time (max_execution_time) being to short to allow for the import to complete. Trying increasing  the max_execution_time in the php.ini file or ask your ask you web host to increase it for you.

I get the following error: ERROR: Destination directory can’t be made writeable.

You are receiving this error message because the directory can not be automatically created and/or made writable due to the server security permissions configuration.

Create a folder named csv_files within wp-content/plugins/connections-csv and set the permissions to either 755 or 767. In some instances you may have to change to the permissions to 777. When you have completed the import you should reset the folder permissions back to 755 if you changed them to 777.

NOTE: If the folder already exists, please delete it first.
